Hi, I’m Alister. I’ve been petsitting for over 5 years, caring for animals of all kinds - from week-old puppies to senior dogs and cats, plus goats, birds, fish, and more.
I'm currently based in the UK and accepting overnight in-home pet sitting bookings nationwide through the end of January 2027. I operate seasonally, returning to Canada in the spring each year, which allows me to build long-term relationships with clients in both countries.
Many pet owners tell me I have a grounding, calming presence around their animals, with some commenting that their pets warmed to me more quickly than they expected or had with previous sitters. I provide routine, love, play, and medication as needed, all while staying in your home so your pets can enjoy the comfort and consistency of the environment they know best. Working remotely allows me to dedicate genuine time and attention to the animals and homes I care for, and I'm also happy to care for plants and help with general household tasks while you're away.
For added peace of mind, I am DBS checked and fully insured for all UK pet sitting bookings.
Originally from the UK, I spent four years living in Vancouver before returning to a seasonal schedule between the UK and Canada in 2024. Many of my clients book repeat sits year after year, allowing me to build long-term relationships with both pets and their owners through trust, reliability, and consistent care.

Overnight In-Home Pet Sitting
I stay in your home and care for your pets with love, routine, and attention, including feeding, walks, play, companionship, and medication where needed. By remaining in their familiar environment, your pets experience less disruption while you enjoy peace of mind knowing both your animals and your home are being cared for.
Current Availability
I offer seasonal, location-based pet sitting:
- United Kingdom (August 2026 - January 2027): I'm currently accepting overnight in-home pet sitting bookings throughout the UK from the beginning of August through the end of January 2027.
- Canada (January 2027 - May 2027): I'll be returning to Canada in January 2027 and will be accepting bookings across Canada, including Vancouver, Vancouver Island and the Sea to Sky through the end of May. If you're planning ahead, feel free to request a booking now.
Pricing
Overnight In-Home Pet Sitting - Starting rates:
UK (GBP)
Cats: £30/night
Dogs: £50/night
Canada (CAD)
- Cats: $45/night + GST
- Dogs: $80/night + GST
Rates reflect the level of care, responsibility, and attention involved, and may vary depending on the number of pets, their individual needs, and the length of your booking.
To get started, simply send me a few details about your pets and the dates you require. I'll provide a personalised quote before arranging a short video call so we can meet, discuss your pets' routines, and make sure we're a great fit.
A 50% deposit is required to secure your booking, with the remaining balance due 48 hours before the start of the petsit.
